STORYTELLING

And I ask myself, what is the job of a storyteller?

Is it to remember, to bear witness, to carve truth out of silence? Is it to keep the past alive or to re-imagine the future? Perhaps it is all of these...to hold history in our hands and shape it into something that refuses to be forgotten.

2024 SSHRC Storyteller

What is SSHRC Storytellers?

Organized by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), it challenges students and researchers to break free from rigid academic formats and transform their research into compelling, accessible stories. This competition isn’t about dense theories or citations—it’s about showing how research shapes the world we live in, how it speaks to communities, and why it deserves to be heard. Through creative storytelling, scholars make their work relatable, impactful, and impossible to ignore.
